Privacy policy

How MyCogniAI handles your data, why it does, and what you can do with it at any time.

Draft version, October 27, 2026. The final text will go through legal review before launch.

What we collect

Your email, name and photo, if you choose to provide them. Your mood check-ins, emotions, context and notes. Your answers to the PHQ-9, GAD-7 and WHO-5 and to questionnaires a professional shares with you. Your conversations with Cogni and the memories it keeps.

Why we collect it

To show your check-ins, calculate the patterns in your days and, if you turn it on, generate summaries written by AI. Nothing beyond that.

Legal basis

Mood check-ins and questionnaire answers are sensitive personal health data under Article 11 of the LGPD (Brazil’s General Personal Data Protection Law). We process this data with your specific consent, which you can withdraw whenever you want.

Questionnaires shared by professionals

A professional linked to you can share validated questionnaires for you to answer in the app. Before each one, we show who will see your answers, and it only starts when you tap Start; we keep the date of that acceptance with your answers. The professional who shared it sees your full answers, the score and the bands of the instrument while the link is active. You see a simple summary, without scores. None of this is a diagnosis. Email and in-app notices never name the questionnaire. Your answers are included when you export your data and are deleted with your account. If the link ends, open questionnaires are cancelled and the professional no longer sees the results.

Artificial intelligence

Cogni, the summaries and the professional assistant use AI models from a contracted provider. To answer, the AI receives only what it needs from the records you allowed, such as mood, notes, questionnaires and, if you allow it, MyBook pages, always without your name or email. AI is optional, each use has its own permission in Privacy and data and can be turned off at any time. Your data is not used to train models.

Cogni’s memories

Cogni, the app’s virtual companion, keeps short notes about what you share in your check-in notes, in additions to them, in your conversations with it and, if you let it read MyBook, in your MyBook pages. They are used to personalise your conversations and to notice trends and risk signs, never to make a diagnosis. Memories are on by default and you can turn them off in Privacy and data. In Profile and settings → Memories you can see, edit, add and delete each one or all of them, and they are part of your data export. Deleting a record deletes what was learned only from it. You can also import memories from other assistants, such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. On the website, the file is read on your device and only the text you wrote is sent, without images or attachments. In the app, the file goes to our private storage, where we read only the text, without opening images or attachments, and delete it right after reading, within minutes and never more than an hour after it arrives. The AI uses that text only to extract what helps it know your personality, your routine and what does you good, discards the rest, and the text is deleted as soon as the import finishes. The professional linked to you only sees your memories if you turn on Share what Cogni remembers with my professional, in Privacy and data, and stops seeing them as soon as you turn it off.

What the AI learns from your records

If you let Cogni read your records, it writes a summary of what it learns over time: patterns in your days, what tends to help or weigh on you, how you have been evolving and how you like to be accompanied. You can read it in Profile and settings → Memories. If you allow AI summaries and analysis, each professional linked to you also gets a clinical support profile written only from what you share with them, with patterns, evolution, risk signs and hypotheses for them to assess; none of this is a diagnosis, and decisions are always the professional’s. Both are part of your data export and are deleted when you withdraw the permission, when the link ends or with your account.

Voice messages

If you talk to Cogni by voice, the audio goes to a transcription provider only to turn it into text. We do not store the audio.

Aggregated use of Zen

To improve Zen, we look at aggregated, de-identified numbers, such as how many people finish a meditation and how they feel afterwards. We never look at one person’s sessions, and groups smaller than five people are left out.

Who we share it with

Only with the providers that run the service, such as hosting, database, email delivery and, if you turn it on, AI, always under contract and only as far as needed. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export and delete your data, and withdraw consent, right in the app. To export, ask for your data in Privacy and data: we prepare a ZIP file with everything we keep, in a structured format and in easy-to-read copies, with your photos. We let you know by email and in the app when it is ready; the file stays available for 7 days and only you can download it, inside the app. Deleting your account removes all your records and files.
